The Hip Hop Dating Map
The Hip Hop Dating Map Dec 5, 2016 at 11:21am
The law of six degrees of separation applies to the hip hop dating circuit -- a land where fast money, fast women, and horny men collide, resulting often in fireworks. As you can see in the dating map we have assembled below, there isn't much distance separating stars like Rihanna, Drake, Kanye West, Future, Lil Wayne, & A$AP Rocky. Ray J even has his own dating wheel, which gives credence to Vince Staples' mind-blowing Theory of Ray J.

From roughly 2002-2006, there was no rap crew more respected and more popular than G-Unit. Comprised of 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo, and eventually Young Buck, G-Unit rose to prominence on the strength of their vivid, swaggering, numerous songs about their exploits running the perilous streets of Southside Queens.

Lloyd Banks was 22 when he released his debut album The Hunger For More in 2004, one year after 50 Cent's monumental debut Get Rich or Die Tryin'. Banks had already forged a reputation as the Punchline King, and he was G-Unit's undisputed next-up. He felt like the next big thing in rap.

YouTube is perhaps most useful as a historical archive. When it comes to hip hop, the site is a veritable treasure trove of videos of rappers as they were before the fame, back when their music video budgets hovered in the single digits. These clips are not pretty, but grainier is almost better -- intense pixellation gives these videos the character of artifacts rather than modern footage, even if they are only a few years old.

The Game's 5 Best Diss Tracks Sep 20, 2016 at 10:23am
The Game's fallout with 50 Cent shortly after the release of The Documentary in 2005 led him to release not one, not two, but dozens of diss tracks against 50 and G-Unit. While Game has taken shots at other rappers -- and non-rappers ("I'd kick David Beckham's ass on any given day") -- roughly 97% percent of his diss tracks have attempted to humiliate and emasculate G-Unit. In light of Game's new Meek Mill diss track "92 Bars," let us revisit five of the most memorable diss tracks released over the course of his prolific diss career.

It's unclear if there are any underlying factors for Future's frustration with Diddy, 46, other than the fact that he didn't bring him vodka and is old.
