Father's Day 2015 proved occasion for a rare Meek Mill-TIME Magazine connection, as Meek used the publication as a platform to write an open letter to his 4-year old son. He touched on what being a father means to him in light of never having had a father himself. He expressed fear and love regarding fatherhood, and looks forward to helping his son became a great man. Here are a couple excerpts from the letter:

We've seen too many rappers killed at an early age, and as someone who has been very close to those who've passed, Meek Mill has always been vocal about stopping the violence. Just last week, YG was shot outside of a studio in L.A., and while he's said to be recovering well, it was too close a call for Meek to stay silent."Let's smarten up..... We know what come with it! Let's Get this money!" he tweeted at YG, sending his prayers by way of emoji.

    Summer Jam 2015 Recap

Summer's here, and festival season has arrived. Unfortunately, for hip-hop heads, most of the summer's premier music destinations are filled with laptop DJs or bands that introduced your parents to LSD 40 years ago. Luckily, for all of us on the East Coast, there's Summer Jam. Though it's just one day, the HOT 97-curated concert features over 10 hours of straight hip-hop in Giants' stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

This year's Summer Jam was one of the more stacked lineups in recent memory. The festival and main stage lineups seemed interchangeable at times, which is a testament to how strong the bill was throughout. The show was full of surprises, with Fabolous bringing out a who's-who of New York icons, including Remy Ma, Fat Joe, The LOX, Raekwon, Mase, and many more. Meanwhile, Chris Brown brought out French Montana and G-Unit (on stage at once!), and Meek Mill closed things out with Future and Nicki Minaj.

Who Had The Better Verse: Wale Vs. Meek Mill

Rick Ross changed the landscape of rap when he forged his indomitable empire Maybach Music Group. His new signees, Wale and Meek Mill, were unproven commodities who simply needed a chance to thrive and eclipse expectations. Under Ross' tutelage, both artists have sculpted strong careers and have expanded their fanbases exponentially. Wale’s poetic ambiance fused with Meek’s rugged and street demeanor is what makes MMG go. When they’re both on a track, you’re almost guaranteed nothing but energy and fiery bars.
