Ain't Gone Do It
In case you missed the news last week, Nicki Minaj has decided to expand her business ventures into the gaming world and drop off a new mobile app called "The Empire", which was officially launched on Tuesday night without Nicki's knowledge (see trailer for it
Two months back, Nicki Minaj dropped off her "Pinkprint Freestyle," and trolled us with an album announcement, but apart from that, we haven't seen her much on the music scene.
Meek Mill Feat. Lil Uzi Vert & Nicki Minaj
With all this wait, DC4 had to be Meek Mill's personal comeback statement. With that being said, some of these collabs are obvious highlights of the tape. Case in point: Young Thug and 21 Savage at their most furious on "Offended." Or Lil Snupe's incredible opening verse on the "Outro," which also features French Montana. "Froze," due to its features, is another collab that's sure to be among DC4's most popular tracks.
The Pinkprint Freestyle
Nicki Minaj has been fairly quiet recently, surfacing briefly on a few features -- destroing Yo Gotti's "Down In The DM" remix earlier in the year, as well as popping up on Ariana Grande's new single, "Side to Side." Today, she's released her first proper solo track since 2014's The Pinkprint, appropriately titled, "The Pinkprint Freestyle." Things start off with some back-to-basics New York rap over Young M.A.'s "Ooouuu,", as Nicki shouts out Lil Wayne for signing "a little chick from Queens." She's as braggy as ever, delivering big punchlines, as well as doing a brief rec
Do You Mind
DJ Khaled Feat. Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, Future, August Alsina, Jeremih & Rick Ross
"Holy Key," the first single from DJ Khaled's album Major Key, was a triumph. In particular, the Kendrick verse. With the album due out tomorrow, Khaled premieres another track by way of iHeartRadio called "Do You Mind." The supporting cast of Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, Future, August Alsina, Jeremih, and Rick Ross is like the rap equivalent of the "New Year's Eve" cast.
Don't Hurt Me
DJ Mustard Feat. Nicki Minaj & Jeremih
Nicki Minaj and Jeremih had a couple of collaborations on The Pinkprint, and they've come together once again on DJ Mustard's new single, "Don't Hurt Me". The record recaptures the clubby RnBass sounds Mustard first started exploring back around the time Tinashe's "2 On" came out, and Nicki and Mih are a perfect fit for the glossy backdrop.
Side To Side
Ariana Grande Feat. Nicki Minaj
Ariana Grande continues to roll out new music leading up to the release of her upcoming Dangerous Woman album on May 20. Yesterday, we heard the Future-assisted single “Everyday,” and now today Ariana just premiered another record on Apple Music called “Side To Side” featuring Nicki Minaj.
No Broken Hearts
Bebe Rexha Feat. Nicki Minaj
You might recognize Bebe Rexha’s name from her chart-climbing collaboration with G-Eazy, “Me, Myself & I,” but she can hold down a track of her own too. She enlists Nicki Minaj for a verse on “No Broken Hearts,” a song about shaking off whatever break up or lost love that’s bringing you down.
Down In The DM (Remix)
Yo Gotti Feat. Nicki Minaj
Yesterday Gotti began promoting his Nicki Minaj-featured "Down in the DM" remix with a clever little Instagram video that showed Nicki sending a few DMs of her own. This, paired with an interview he did with Instagram itself about DM-hitting protocol, was ample promotion for the remix, not to mention the album, The Art of Hustle.
AnonXmous Feat. Nicki Minaj
AnonXmous and Polow Da Don were the two main producers responsible for Nicki Minaj's massive "Anaconda," with co-production coming from Da Internz. It's been over a year since that record and music video shook up the world, but today AnonXmous returns with "Anaconda 2.0," an alternate version of the single.
Doin It Well
Fabolous Feat. Nicki Minaj & Trey Songz
Fabolous came through this afternoon with the first of three pretty significant mixtapes dropping today. In addition to Summertime Shootout, we're also expecting projects from Lil Wayne and 50 Cent to arrive later this evening. Back to Loso though, although we're quickly approaching winter, Fab brings back some of those summer vibes on Summertime Shootout.
Robin Thicke Feat. Nicki Minaj
Earlier today news surfaced that Robin Thicke was to be marrying a 20-year old girl named April Love Geary soon, but that turns out to be a hoax. Tonight, Robin took to twitter to clear the air about the false engagement as well as release his new single “Back Together,” featuring Nicki Minaj.
Drake held his tongue in the wake of Meek Mill's ghostwriting accusations, but it was only matter of time before he responded to the noise. Today he shared a new song on OVO Sound Radio called "Charged Up" that features several jabs at ol Meek. "Done doing favors for people. Because it ain't like I need the money I make off of features," Drizzy raps. He also took some shots at Nicki Minaj, with whom he shared a sensual moment in her "Anaconda" video. "No woman ever had me star struck, or was able to me get my bars up.” He played the song four times in a row.
DJ Prostyle Feat. Jeremih & Nicki Minaj
Nicki Minaj had quite a successful evening last night at the BET Awards. She took the stage with her boyfriend, and she also took home the award for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist as well as the Viewer's Choice Award for her collaboration with Chris Brown, Lil Wayne and Drake for "Only."
All Eyes On You
Meek Mill Feat. Chris Brown & Nicki Minaj
Two days ago, Meek Mill came through with the official cover art, tracklist and release date for his highly anticipated sophomore effort on MMG, Dreams Worth More Than Money. As has become routine, this information all arrives a short time before the album's expected release-- June 29th. With that date quickly approaching, Meek decides to unleash one last leak this Friday morning via DJ Envy.
Before Nicki Minaj was washing Jay Z on Kanye West's "Monster," she was washing him on his own beats. On "Dilly Dally" from 2007's Playtime Is Over, she takes on Just Blaze's "Kingdom Come" beat that he made for Hova, and does a fine job of navigating it for three minutes.
Street Money (Freestyle)
Along with Ty Dolla $ign, Berner is helping hold down Taylor Gang on the West Coast. He recently dropped Prohibition 2, an eight-track EP with B-Real of Cypress Hill, and, now, the Bay Area rapper has decided to give us a new freestyle over Nicki Minaj's "Truffle Butter," which he's renamed "Street Money."
Maroon 5 Feat. Nicki Minaj
Maroon 5 have established themselves as a constant chart presence over the last ten years, warping their sound with the times just enough to keep the momentum going. "Sugar" has brought them almost full circle, bringing them back to the nu-funk and dico's in the Pharell-informed pop world, fitting cleanly next to "Get Lucky" or Katy Perry's "Birthday".
Truffle Butter (Freestyle)
After a mixed bag of singles for The Pinkprint, Nicki decided to release "Truffle Butter" when sales erupted for the song following the album's release on iTunes. It's now getting some radio play, and like clockwork, the freestyles have now begun to pour in. While we're not exactly thrilled to hear a million versions of a song that's perfectly great in its original form, Ace Hood is more than welcome to add some bars to the propulsive house-rap jam.
