Joseline Hernandez Claims Tory Lanez Was "Liking On The Princess"

Shannon Sharpe thought he was teeing up a question about Joseline Hernandez’s relationship with Tory Lanez. Instead, he got an immediate correction. “I ain’t cool with that n*gga. Who the f*ck told you that?” Hernandez said during the latest episode of Club Shay Shay after Sharpe suggested the two were close.

Sharpe explained that he had read they were friends, which prompted Hernandez to clarify that she has no personal issue with Lanez but also doesn't consider him someone she had a real relationship with. “No, I don’t got no beef with him,” she said. Hernandez added that she was aware of the case involving Megan Thee Stallion, as millions of people are, but had no interest in inserting herself into a situation she did not personally know enough about.

“I really don’t have anything to say about it because I don’t know what the f*ck going on with that,” she said during the Club Shay Shay interview. Sharpe then made it clear he wasn't asking her to weigh in on the 2020 shooting itself. He wanted to know what kind of relationship she had with Lanez before his incarceration.

That answer was even simpler. “We never had a relationship like that,” Hernandez said. Yet, she did offer one detail that may explain why people assumed otherwise. “He was liking on the Princess,” she added, referring to herself by her longtime “Puerto Rican Princess” nickname.

The comment suggested Lanez may have been interested at some point, but Hernandez stopped well short of describing anything romantic or serious between them. Lanez, whose legal name is Daystar Peterson, is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence after being convicted in 2022 of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, carrying an unregistered loaded firearm in a vehicle, and discharging a firearm with gross negligence in connection with the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion. His appeal of the conviction was rejected in November 2025.

Hernandez did not defend Lanez or offer a theory about what happened that night. She simply rejected the idea that his legal situation was something she could speak on from personal experience. As for whatever existed between the two before then, Hernandez said there was no relationship to explain.
