Easily the biggest story of this past week was the announcement of J. Cole's new album, 4 Your Eyez Only, the release of a "making of" documentary, and the ensuing drama. The doc contained videos for two new tracks, "False Prophets" and "Everybody Dies," which have been construed to contain disses of Kanye West and Lil Yachty, respectively. A J.

Cole's second verse on "False Prophets," the D.C. rapper tweeted a video of himself and Jermaine hanging out at a basketball game. The ten second video shows both rappers in good friendly spirits, clearly laughing off any possible rumours of bad blood between them. The video begins with a shot of Wale, who then pans the camera to J. Cole sitting beside him.
Selena Gomez Had The Top 5 Instagram Posts of 2016 (And More Year End Data)
For all of Kim Kardashian’s talk of “breaking the internet,” she has not been able to best the appeal of 24 year old starlet Selena Gomez. Instagram just released year end data for the social media platform, and the babyfaced singer/actress/model held the top five spots for most liked Instagram posts in 2016. More depressingly, the most liked post from 2016 was a Coca Cola advertisement.

5 Confrontations Involving Wale
For a public figure who wears his emotions on his sleeve, like Wale, ignoring a troll can be more difficult than confronting one. On numerous occasions, when faced with someone seeking to get a rise out of him, Wale has given that person exactly what they wanted: recognition. For fun, and in hopes that Wale gets better at dealing with these trifling provocateurs, here are five confrontations involving Wale.

Stream "Birth of a Nation" Album, Featuring Nas, Gucci Mane, Lil Wayne, Pusha T, & More
"Birth of a Nation," the upcoming Nat Turner biopic, has faced no shortage of controversy and calls to boycott due to a rape scandal surrounding the film's star, director, and writer Nate Parker. Perhaps less controversial than the film is its accompanying album, The Birth of a Nation: The Inspired By Album. 16 tracks in length, it features appearances from Pusha T, Meek Mill, 2 Chainz, Lil Wayne, Nas, Gucci Mane, Killer Mike, Ne-Yo, Wale, The Game, Anthony Hamilton, LeCrae, Vic Mensa, Trey Songz, and many more.
That Wale is signed to Maybach Music Group, the gaudiest label in all the land, belies his humble origins as a first-generation Nigerian-American whose bold, lyrical, heavily go-go-flavored style bridged the gap between backpacker and radio rap and became an instant sensation in his native Washington D.C. Wale's acclaimed mixtape run from 2005 to 2009 culminated in the release of his debut album Attention Deficit. In this week's installment of #TBT, we revisit the celebrated opening act of Wale's career.
