We've seen too many rappers killed at an early age, and as someone who has been very close to those who've passed, Meek Mill has always been vocal about stopping the violence. Just last week, YG was shot outside of a studio in L.A., and while he's said to be recovering well, it was too close a call for Meek to stay silent."Let's smarten up..... We know what come with it! Let's Get this money!" he tweeted at YG, sending his prayers by way of emoji.

By now, you all don't need an introduction to Amber Rose. Like it or not, she's a big deal in hip-hop. The former stripper turned video girl first caught the eye of Kanye West in Ludacris' "What Them Girls Like" video, and the two soon began a relationship that lasted almost two years. After 'Ye, she moved on to Wiz Khalifa, whom she married two years later. Somehow between marriage and a kid, Rose continued to cement herself as one of the baddest bitches in hip-hop.

What happened next is still being investigated, though by the time Gray arrived at the police station, he was unresponsive, unable to talk or breathe.

Behind The Beat: Ducko Mcfli Apr 28, 2015 at 09:29am
A year ago, Ducko Mcfli had never gotten his name on a beat with an artist outside of Nashville. He and longtime production partner SykSense had been putting in work for years, even catching the eye of Boi-1da, who signed the pair to a short-term production deal a few years ago. Finally, last March, they sent him one that stuck. He passed it along to his right-hand man, aka the biggest rapper in the world, and next thing you know, Syk and Ducko saw their names next to Drake's "Draft Day."

Jeremih's upcoming Late Nights: The Album, originally slated for release in early 2013, just can't make it off the shelf. The Chicago singer has blamed label problems as well as personal issues for the brutal delay of his third studio album, and, now, there's more drama on his doorstep--involving the artwork to the album's lead single, "Don't Tell 'Em".

Drake's OVO Fest Will Not Receive Government Funding Apr 11, 2015 at 10:43am
In 2014, the Canadian government awarded Drake's OVO Fest $300,000, but, this year, it looks like funding for the Toronto festival will have to come out of OVO's pockets. Celebrate Ontario, the organization that awards grants to events like OVO Fest, just released its schedule of events, and the finances allocated to each, and Drake's two-day concert in downtown Toronto wasn't included on the list.

YG "Bicketers" Protest "My Krazy Life" Grammy Snub In L.A. Jan 4, 2015 at 12:27am
YG taught us about "Bickin Back" and "Bein' Bool" on his debut album, My Krazy Life, but today some of his LA fans taught us the importance of "bicketing". Following news that YG's 2014 project (which topped our own Hottest Albums list) would not be nominated for any Grammys, a group of supporters (including quite a few children) took to the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles to protest the decision, before apparently being kicked out of the building.
Hottest Albums Of 2014
Hottest Albums Of 2014 Dec 30, 2014 at 03:46pm
In terms of sales, hip hop albums did not do very well this year. As of press time, J. Cole is the only rapper with a gold album this year, and he just sneaked into the fourth quarter with a surprise release. Most of this boils down to a simple lack of "event" albums. Most of the biggest hip hop artists dropped last year (Drake, Kanye West, Eminem, Jay Z, etc.), and thus created something of a drought in terms of high profile releases.
