Samples Of The Week: March 12
After a week where Kanye West, Wale and Ludacris dropped off new tracks, we had fewer top-tier artists releasing material this week. Instead, some fan favorites returned from dry spells to bless us with new material, all of which was pretty dope. In this edition of Samples Of The Week, we look at flips by Freddie Gibbs, Flatbush Zombies and Curren$y. As always, some of these are very unexpected, some are obscure, and all are expertly executed. Read on to get the scoop.
Rick Ross Kicked It With Bill Murray This Weekend
If you've ever questioned Rick Ross's "bawse" status, then check out these pics of the MMG boss with none other than Bill Murray, one of America's most treasured comedic icons. Both men happened to attend the Rhode Island vs La Salle NCAA basketball game, which took place in Philly on Saturday night. Murray's son is the assistant coach of the Rhode Island team, and Rozay is just a fan of some good college hoops.
Rick Ross & Meek Mill Reportedly Involved In Club Brawl During All-Star Weekend
It's not out of the ordinary for a fight to break out at an MMG event, but this time, Rick Ross and Meek Mill may have been a little closer to the action than usual. According to TMZ, a brawl that erupted NYC's Liberty Theatre involved both Ross and Mill, but it seems their security took care of things for the most part.
Ranking Kanye West's 6 Albums From Worst To Best
This was hard. This was really hard. Mostly because we love all of Kanye West's albums. They've each played a unique role in the progression of hip-hop (and music in general), each pushing the boundaries of his sound and offering something new to the table.
Maybach Music Is Dropping A Mixtape This Weekend

In conjunction with NBA All Star Weekend, MMG will release an All Star mixtape of their own, so expect some big features from Maybach's leading names. Rick Ross Gets New Face Tattoos Repping Miami Heat & Dreamchasers
Rick Ross added some new ink to his face recently, as we've already concluded this is a rapper rite of passage. Although we already saw Rozay ink "Rich Forever" on his chin last year, he's stepped it up a notch in 2015 by getting not one, but seven new face tattoos.
Near Extinction: The Platinum Hip-Hop Album
Back in October, many industry insiders were surprised by the early sales estimates for T.I.'s most recent album, Paperwork. After a day of sales, forecasts had the album selling roughly 70,000 units in its opening week. The self-proclaimed King of the South, who in his prime would easily do upwards of 400,000 copies sold in his opening weeks had officially fallen from grace and the dismal first week record sales were an obvious indicator. An array of reasons can be attributed to the unfortunate reality that almost no one in hip hop is selling records.
Secret Santa For Your Favorite Rappers
Christmas is finally here and no doubt you’ve already finished your shopping. You left a few very important people off your shopping list, however. Namely, your favorite rappers. They’ve done nothing but provide us with great music and be good little girls and boys (GS9 excepted) all year. And yet you stiffed ‘em.

Rick Ross & MMG Take Shots At Timbaland's Mosley Music Group Logo
We know that Rick Ross wasn't the most pleased when Timbaland decided to let us hear an alternate version of "Movin' Bass," which heavily featured his artist Tink (and was coincidentally much better than the version that landed on Rozay's album).
Mastermind Vs. Hood Billionaire
Compared to Gucci Mane's onslaught of projects in 2014, Rick Ross releasing two albums in one year may not seem too impressive. However, the fact of the matter is this: Rick Ross is the first major-label rap artist to release two studio albums in one year since 2010, when Lil Wayne released Rebirth and I Am Not A Human Being, respectively. It is no easy feat, especially considering how hesitant record labels are nowadays to release new music.

Stream Omarion's "Sex Playlist"
Today, Omarion is letting people everywhere listen in on his Sex Playlist. Although we don't know for sure if he's tested it out in its literal sense, the album (his first as an MMG signee) is sensual in nature. Check out the playlist -- with producers to the right of the songs -- below, and stream the project below that, via Spotify.
Samples Of The Week: November 27
When hip-hop began, samples were all that DJs and producers had to construct instrumental tracks with. They'd dig through crates of vinyl trying to find isolated drum breaks, melodies or vocals that they could repurpose for use in hip-hop music. Today, sampling has become less common, but a choice sample can still push a track from lukewarm to hot faster than you can say "uh-huh honey". This week, see who Rick Ross, Boldy James and Azealia Banks sampled on their recent tracks, all of which can be found on HNHH.
Rick Ross Is "Disappointed" That Timbaland Leaked Tink's Version Of "Movin Bass"
Timbaland caused a stir last week when he leaked out what he called the "original version" of the Rick Ross and Jay Z track he had recently produced, "Movin Bass." Apparently, Rick Ross wasn't happy about the way he handled the situation.
