Cardi B is one of music's most prominent rising young artists, having capitalized off the tremendous success of her singles, while not yet releasing her debut album. An eye into her potential can be seen on her previous mixtapes, but the world has been wondering what a Cardi B album will sound like. Although the LP is on the way, Cardi took a break from the studio to party at Madonna's post-Oscar bash with Kim Kardashian and her Migos buddies Offset and Quavo. Kim very well could have been invisible though, as Cardi only had eyes for one woman: Madonna.
Cardi detailed meeting her "idol" in a recent Instagram post and simply reading her passionate text is touching. The Bronx native performed at the event and, somewhere along the way, got to speak with Madonna, who she praises in the post. Cardi wrote, "I met my real life IDOL @madonna. I can’t even believe i [sic] performed at her event and it was the most meaningful performance ever. I grew up with my mom listening to Madonna for hours. I performed Material Girl freshman year in High school, listen to her on all my photo shoots to have super confidence and always mentioned her in my interviews."
The rapper continued by claiming that Madonna was exactly as she had imagined: "A liberal kick-ass feminist bitch." Her passion for the pop legend is heartfelt, as it is always nice to hear of people getting to meet, and work with, those who have inspired them.
