In the world of hip hop "beef" isn't unusual, in fact it's customary. Some of the greatest and most historical moments in the culture and genre have been produced because of contention. Most disagreements are between two or more artists and/or producers, but from time to time artists have been in dispute with their record labels. And when rappers take to social media, or in some cases to wax, to air out label executives and record labels as a whole, things can get pretty interesting.

Jeezy was reportedly arrested Friday for battery, false imprisonment, and making terroristic threats. The charges stem from an alleged incident in 2012 in which Jeezy got into a physical altercation with his son.  Apparently the ATL rapper and his son got into a fight in a bathroom, which resulted in Jeezy throwing his kid through a glass shower door, and caused him to hit his head. Jeezy then apparently punched him in the face, before dragging him into a bedroom and further beating him on a bed.

“I am the struggle. I am the hustle. I am the city. I’m the pot in the kitchen.” Yo Gotti raps on the title track of his latest album, I Am. The self-proclaimed king of Memphis has been involved in the trap game for a while now, and he has much to share, telling stories through out his new album, I Am. Gotti‘s strong southern influence is clearly shown throughout the 13-track project. There’s just as much soul as there is swagger, a combination that keeps listeners intrigued.

It seems that history is repeating itself for Jeezy. The Atlanta rapper has released a large onslaught of material this year, but still has no release date for his upcoming fourth album. As someone who has experienced his share of delays, particularly with his last effort, TM:103, Jeezy is beginning to get frustrated. The snowman took to Twitter today to vent about his concerns for the album, indicating that he desperately wants to give the new music to his fans, and even threatening to leak the project if his concerns are not addressed.

Jeezy's clothing apparel line 8732 Apparel is facing a new lawsuit, from motorcycle crew Hells Angels. The Angels aren't too happy with Jeezy ripping off their logo, and then selling it on jackets for massive profit, at least according to the suit. Hells Angels' iconic Death Head logo is currently being used in a slightly different version on 8732 Apparel's jackets and hats. Hells Angels say in their lawsuit that Jeezy's company has already earned a substantial amount of profit from selling a knock-off of their logo, and now they want all those profits.

Jeezy Officially Drops "Young" From His Name
    Sep 4, 2013 at 05:38pm
There was some talk of Jeezy dropping the "Young" from his name a few years back, when the artwork for "Lose My Mind" listed him simply as "Jeezy". Whether or not it was an aesthetic choice, or something Jeezy backed out of, the talk died down when his subsequent singles bore the full "Young Jeezy" moniker once again. According to the rapper, he's now officially going through with the change, citing that he's "grown up now". The CTE rapper made the announcement on RapFix Live earlier today.
