After garnering regional success with his first and second albums, Thuggin' Under The Influence and Come Shop With ME, Jeezy's big national break came courtesy of 2005's Let's Get It: Thug Motivation 101. With hits such as the Akon-assisted "Soul Survivor," the Atlanta native debuted at number two and saw considerable acclaim follow the album. With its tenth anniversary approaching on July 26th, Jeezy's got big plans for a celebration.

This morning Power 105.1 announced the line-up for their annual Powerhouse concert in New York City. The radio station has tapped some NYC natives and some West Coast favorites for the big event, which goes down on Thursday, October 30th at the Barclays Center. J. Cole, Jeezy, Kid Ink, T.I., Childish Gambino, French Montana, Migos, Ne-Yo, Tinashe and man-of-the-moment Bobby Shmurda will all be performing at Powerhouse 2014.
Wisconsin Rapper Sues Jeezy, Claims "Me OK" Was A Rip-Off
TMZ is reporting that Jeezy, who just got out of some legal trouble of his own this past month, is now being sued by a Wisconsin rapper by the name of Big Chris. Chris claims that Jeezy's 2014 hit single "Me OK," produced by Drumma Boy, was a rip-off of his own track "13 Shots." Chris says his single was released a full five years before Jeezy's hit.

Charts Don’t Lie: September 14
This week we welcome Jeezy onto the Billboard 200, with his Seen It All album debuting successfully at #2. He wasn't able to trump the pop-power that is Maroon 5, nonetheless he did move more than projected. The album was projected to move 90k-100k opening week, but it managed to top the 100k mark with 121,000 copies sold. Although his last album moved almost twice, with 231,000 copies sold opening week, it happens to be a higher debut than TM:103 Hustlerz Ambition.

When hip-hop began, samples were all that DJs and producers had to construct instrumental tracks with. They'd dig through crates of vinyl trying to find isolated drum breaks, melodies or vocals that they could repurpose for use in hip-hop music. Today, sampling has become less common, but a choice sample can still push a track from lukewarm to hot faster than you can say "uh-huh honey".
