This time of year is always a bit strange for hip-hop albums as the Grammy eligibility period comes to a close and artists look to regroup for next year. Major labels begin tightening their budgets, and artists are put on the shelf until January.
It is the harsh reality, but we are already starting to see that reality play out as fewer artists are dropping albums each week. Case in point, only a few projects are dropping tonight. We are getting a new Leon Bridges album, Happiness Anytime, as well as Tinashe's Popstar. Meanwhile, Tee Grizzley is dropping They Forgot.
There will also be some singles from Che & Tezzus, 2hollis, slayr, and even G-Eazy and Ty Dolla $ign. However, in terms of major hip-hop releases, you may find yourself just slightly disappointed.
