Takeoff's passing back in 2022 was a complete shock to the hip-hop world. To this day, his death looms large as his fellow Migos members Quavo and Offset pay homage to him every chance they get. In fact, a new Migos album is on the horizon, which is expected to contain vaulted verses from the late rapper.
Patrik Xavier Clark stands accused of firing the shots that killed Takeoff. He is set to stand trial on November 5, and according to TMZ, he is going to great lengths to prepare his legal defense.
As the publication reported last night, Clark is requesting to examine the bullets that were used the night of Takeoff's passing. These bullets are currently in the Houston Police Department's possession. Clark is hoping that an independent expert can examine the evidence. The findings would supposedly be used to help build Clark's defense.
Takeoff Murder Trial To Begin In November
Since being arrested, Clark has denied any wrongdoing in Takeoff's death. If you remember, the man was arrested, charged with murder, and subsequently released on a $1 million bond. His legal team has stated that Clark has a "valid and meritorious claim for self-defense."
Following his release, Clark was put under house arrest. During this time, he has had to avoid anyone involved in the investigation, and he has also been fitted with a GPS tracking device.
With the trial less than two months away, there is quite a bit of anticipation. It has been almost four years since Takeoff's tragic passing, and family and friends are hoping for closure.
