This contributes to the ongoing narrative of the 6ix God taking a pretty staunch and public stance on this matter.

Drake just stirred up a whole lot more controversy when it comes to his stance on the Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez shooting. Moreover, you may have seen online that Kelsey Nicole, Megan's former best friend, just did her first interview in four years after this incident with The Danza Project (releasing in full on Sunday, March 3). In it, she tells her side of the story and stands by the DAYSTAR artist, which of course prompted a lot of debate around this topic. Now, it seems like the 6ix God doubled down on his stance by liking a post covering this new interview on Instagram. Surely, this won't be a pretty sight for many on social media, whereas others will feel even more vindicated.

Furthermore, you also may remember that Drake recently took to the social media platform to voice his support for Tory Lanez's freedom. While he hasn't explicitly talked about the details of the case itself, his solidarity with his fellow Canadian artist is set in stone. In fact, this is quite ironic considering that there were beef rumors between the two in the past. For whatever reason, though, it seems like this situation made that all water under the bridge.

However, the most salient points when it comes to Drake's involvement in this discussion has been the animosity he and Megan Thee Stallion apparently hold for one another. The Houston MC recently (and apparently) dissed him on her record "HISS," following his own supposed reference to her on his 2022 track "Circo Loco." It's all been quite subliminal up until this point, but it's clear as day where the connections lie. As for a full public back-and-forth, the rumor mill still isn't in that phase as of writing this article.

The IG Post In Question

Still, that's not to say that these parties couldn't say something more explicit about all this in the near future. As for Kelsey, her love of the Nicki Minaj diss against Meg, "Big Foot," is well-documented. Maybe this isn't the end of her side of the story in this retrospective space. About The Author
Gabriel Bras Nevares is a music and pop culture news writer for HotNewHipHop. He started in 2022 as a weekend writer and, since joining the team full-time, has developed a strong knowledge in hip-hop news and releases. Whether it’s regular coverage or occasional interviews and album reviews, he continues to search for the most relevant news for his audience and find the best new releases in the genre. What excites him the most is finding pop culture stories of interest, as well as a deeper passion for the art form of hip-hop and its contemporary output. Specifically, Gabriel enjoys the fringes of rap music: the experimental, boundary-pushing, and raw alternatives to the mainstream sound. As a proud native of San Juan, Puerto Rico, he also stays up-to-date with the archipelago’s local scene and its biggest musical exponents in reggaetón, salsa, indie, and beyond. Before working at HotNewHipHop, Gabriel produced multiple short documentaries, artist interviews, venue spotlights, and audio podcasts on a variety of genres and musical figures. Hardcore punk and Go-go music defined much of his coverage during his time at the George Washington University in D.C. His favorite hip-hop artists working today are Tyler, The Creator, Boldy James, JPEGMAFIA, and Earl Sweatshirt.
