After several less than enjoyable entries (Halloween Ressurection with Busta Rhymes and Tyra Banks was a joke), Halloween is back to take the horror throne. In the late 90's and early 00's, Halloween directors sought to ignore the storylines that were released after the second film by reasserting Jamie Lee Curtis in the titular role. Now, it appears the same method is being reapplied with some minor tweaks.

In the latest Halloween reboot, Curtis' character Laurie Strode is a warrior suffering from PTSD after Myers original attack. She has waited for years for Myers to return, and she gets her wish when he escapes from a prison bus. A new trailer for the horror slasher film has hit the web, and it reimagines the legacy of Michael Myers with a true-crime aspect. This new film also ignores years of Myers movies, and continues the story from the original film. Somehow, the children of Haddonfield don't believe in Myers, and refer to the murderer as just a "boogieman" or children's tale. That is, until he returns. A well equipped Strode leads the attack on the escaped Myers, and critics are calling Halloween one of the best films in the franchise.

Halloween hits theaters on October 19.
