YNW Melly is facing a double murder retrial after being in prison for nearly eight years, and he reportedly has some famous people in his corner to assist his legal team. TMZ reported that, according to alleged sources close to the case, Casey Anthony will help the defense ahead of court proceedings.
For those unaware, Anthony was at the center of one of the United States' most infamous and high-profile criminal trials. She had been accused of murdering her daughter, but the court only convicted her on four charges of lying to police, two of which were later overturned.
That all went down in Florida, the state that is also hosting Melly's double murder retrial. Casey Anthony is reportedly working as a research assistant for Pat McKenna, a private investigator hired by a law firm representing the rapper. According to TMZ, Anthony is helping defense lawyers with various matters related to the case in order to prepare their arguments for the trial.
This wild turn of events could prove useful for the defense. It could also be irrelevant if the jury finds the Florida MC guilty. Either way, it's a crossover folks didn't expect to see between two incredibly notorious cases in U.S. crime history.
