Lil Durk continues to face a lot of legal trouble for alleged racketeering crimes, which has led to reevaluations of previous events One of these is the murder of fellow Chicago rapper FBG Duck in 2020, as he was beefing with Durk and others in the drill scene at the time. This led Duck's mother, LaSheena Weekly, to file a wrongful death lawsuit against Durk and others. She continues to speak out about The Voice, including a recent claim about an alleged "peace album" he's making from jail that she refused to be on.
During a recent conversation with Cam Capone News, Weekly claimed she received a request to be on a "peace album" Smurk was making from jail. It seems like this is separate to his Deep Thoughts LP he dropped last year. Duck's mom elaborated on this claim, alleging the mother of Tooka (a 15-year-old fatally shot in a gang conflict and frequently referenced in Chicago drill) received a similar request.
"I was asked to get on the man's song [and] album from jail. Could I put my voice on his song? He's making a peace album. They wanted my voice, Tooka's mama's voice... And I said, 'Good luck with that, but no,'" LaSheena Weekly claimed. "Durk's supposed to be allegedly making the album from jail... Due to the circumstances and what's going on, I had to object to that. And I'm not saying no other mother should. But I have my reasons.
Lil Durk Case
"I'm stuck at this 'Chicago Legends,' 'cause I think that would've kind of ended everything between them..." FBG Duck's mother continued. "The six to nine months before [Durk] knew they was coming to get him, he was trying to clean his s**t up... It was going too good for them when my son was here for them to want peace. But now it's fine for everybody to want peace. What about when my son wanted it? When he was asking for it?"
LaSheena Weekly said she felt like the Chicago rapper was only making this alleged request to help his criminal case. For those unaware, "Chicago Legends" is a track on which FBG Duck paid respect to all conflicting sides of Chicago drill conflict, which was a peace offering.
Meanwhile, Lil Durk is still in federal trouble ahead of his VICAR case. It now represents a long history of rumors and allegations tied to him, a history that even big criminal cases like his murder-for-hire trial and this racketeering case won't obfuscate.
