Damar Hamlin is using his voice to support safer school systems.

Last season, Damar Hamlin's freak injury in Cincinnati changed the landscape of his life. The injury flipped the sport upside down and had many asking much-needed questions. It also showed us how small the game of football is, compared to our lives. Hamlin's strength to overcome this injury has been better than any Hollywood script. Now the Bills star is looking to use the voice he was given, for good.

Hamlin took to the steps of Capitol Hill on Wednesday. Damar spoke with leaders of the senate about adding more AEDs in schools. AEDs are one of the reasons that Hamlin is still with us today. He understands just how important these machines are to saving lives. Adding more AEDs to schools around the country should be a no-brainer for government officials. Seeing someone like Hamlin tell their story firsthand makes him the perfect spokesperson. Capitol Hill was thrilled to see Hamlin and supported his stance on AEDs.

Damar Hamlin Speaks At The Capitol In Support of AEDs

The entire country rallied around Hamlin when his on-the-field injury took place. It felt as if time was standing still as we all witnessed the horrific injury. The Bengals and the Bills made the correct call by not playing the rest of the game. As no one on that field was in the right frame of mind to finish. The two teams later met in the playoffs, with the Bengals earning the victory. A shocker to everyone, Damar Hamlin was in attendance for the playoff game.

It is great to see that Hamlin is in good health. It is also great to see him using his platform to create change in our country. Although the injury was an unfortunate situation, Hamlin has turned the negative into a positive. Not many could be in Hamlin's shoes and look for the power of positivity that he has found. This is another awesome story for a great human being. What are your thoughts on how Hamlin has dealt with his trying situation? Let us know in the comment section below.
