The rapper also explained how he was impulsive when he decided to take aim at Cole on wax shortly after.

Symba admittedly jumped the gun when he decided to go at J. Cole in the midst of the Drake-Kendrick beef. During a recent interview on F4RUM, Symba opened up about why he took shots at J. Cole after he rescinded “7 Minute Drill” on stage.

The West Coast rapper explained that he studied J. Cole over the years, and even when Cole got at him on “Bronx Zoo Freestyle,” he didn’t really disagree. The issue centered around Cole’s decision to side-step competition in the heat of the battle.

“My only problem with J. Cole is, bruh, you just f*cked up my barbershop argument, bruh,” he explained. “I was in the barbershop telling n***as like, nah, bruh, Cole gonna get both these n***as. Cole that n***a… And then when bro backed out, I was just hurt as a fan, and I did some immature, impulsive s*it, went in the studio, rapped about it, put it out there. But it wasn’t like I was trying to diminish that man’s legacy.”

Symba Praises J. Cole & Apologizes

Symba also added that the humor on the West Coast has a tendency to get aggressive at times. “What I said could’ve been aggressive and I apologize for that, but I think Jermaine Cole is an amazing artist,” he said. “I salute him; my feelings were just hurt as a fan when he backed out that battle, that’s all.”

Following Cole’s apology, Symba released a freestyle over Big Sean's "Control" beat where he said that the Fayetteville rapper gave up his spot, leading to Cole’s response on Birthday Blizzard ‘26. Then, Symba later issued a retort on “Father Figure.”
