A new report from Puck News is claiming that amid struggles to find a Super Bowl Halftime Show performer, JÄY-Z has gone ahead and chosen himself. This would come amidst a huge year for Hov, who is celebrating the 30th anniversary of Reasonable Doubt and 25th anniversary of The Blueprint.
Ironically enough, he is performing at SoFi Stadium this weekend. This just so happens to be the site of Super Bowl LXI, which is set to take place on Valentine's Day 2027. Overall, a JÄY-Z performance would be a massive deal, especially when you consider all the guests he could bring out.
However, it is also a controversial decision. In recent years, there has been a broader hate campaign against Hov on social media. This has been fueled by conspiracy theories surrounding Roc Nation and its influence.
JÄY-Z Chooses Himself
With that in mind, it should come as no surprise that there are some folks on social media who are not impressed with JÄY-Z's decision. Some feel as though it is being done as a legacy move, as opposed to a desire to put on the best show possible.
It was reported that Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus were asked to do the show, but ultimately declined. At this time, JÄY-Z, the NFL, and Roc Nation have yet to comment on the Puck News report.
