One of the worst-kept secrets in the sports and entertainment industry has been the allegation that JÄY-Z is going to be the Super Bowl Halftime Show performer in 2027. There have been rumblings that Hov and Roc Nation have struggled to find someone to do it. Consequently, JÄY himself has allegedly mused about taking charge and making his comeback complete.
Well, in the early hours of Tuesday morning on October 20, Puck News released a report stating that JÄY-Z is, in fact, going to be the Halftime Show performer. This is according to multiple sources close to the situation.
This isn't for lack of trying to find someone else. The report claims Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus were also asked about potentially performing. However, those two artists turned the offer down.
JÄY-Z Gets His Moment
It is a report that comes amid JÄY-Z's epic comeback year. He has been celebrating the 30th anniversary of Reasonable Doubt, as well as the 25th anniversary of The Blueprint. This has led to shows at Yankee Stadium in New York City, France, London, and this weekend, Los Angeles.
Ironically enough, JÄY-Z will be performing at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California on October 23 and 24. Super Bowl LXI will also be played at SoFi Stadium, albeit on February 14, 2027. It is still too early in the NFL season to determine who will be playing in that game.
Reps for the NFL, JÄY-Z, and Roc Nation have not confirmed or denied Puck News' report at this time. However, we are getting to the point in the season when the Super Bowl Halftime Show performer is announced.
With Hov performing in Los Angeles this weekend, perhaps an official announcement could be coming sooner rather than later.
