Playboi Carti and Young Thug have collaborated in the past, but fans were still surprised when this alleged collab album emerged.

Playboi Carti will headline ComplexCon today (Sunday, October 4) as performer and artistic director. Fans are very excited to see him, although they didn't expect to get a special surprise at the event over the weekend. At the Sp5der booth at the convention, folks were handing out CDs with the title "YT + PBC Vol. 1," revealing a collab album with Young Thug.

This immediately sent fans of both artists into a frenzy, as a full-length link-up between the two collaborators is something many of them have dreamed of for years. However, folks who didn't get an actual copy of the CD don't know what it contains, let alone whether or not it's actually a collaborative project.

Still, Kurrco caught a video of a fan playing the CD in their car on Instagram, and the clip features a short snippet of a buzzy trap cut with Thugger on the vocals. It's a short video, but at least the CD has some music on it. Maybe more information on this will come out soon. What fans are really hoping for is that the Opium boss and the YSL creative will formally announce a collaborative album for release in the future.

Young Thug & Playboi Carti Collabs

Young Thug and Playboi Carti's history has seen them cross over multiple times. They have "Choppa Won't Miss" under their belt from the latter's 2018 project Die Lit, and Jeffery appeared on "WE NEED ALL DA VIBES" from Carti's 2025 LP MUSIC. They have various other leaks under their belts as well, but a full collab tape would be something else entirely.

Elsewhere, Playboi Carti's time at ComplexCon became controversial due to folks accusing his Opium camp of being responsible for LUCKI getting a neck laceration at the event. These rumors and allegations haven't been confirmed at all, but the Chicago rapper is recovering from his wound.

Meanwhile, Young Thug is cooking something up for sure, as he has a new album to follow up Slime Language 3, which came out earlier this year. Maybe YT + PBC Vol. 1 is the answer. We'll have to wait and see if either artist wants to share this more widely soon.
