It’s only been a few weeks since Young Thug delivered the incredibly long, double-disc compilation, Slime Language 3. Thug ultimately didn’t steal the show on that project, but that wasn’t the point. The point was that Young Thug introduced the new generation of YSL and the ØWAY crew as its frontier.
Fortunately, that doesn’t mean that Thugger is taking a step back as an artist in any way. The rapper is currently working on a follow-up to Uy Scuti, and it’s apparently sounding quite promising. FBG Goat suggested that it could be some of his best work in recent times.
“This new @thuggerthugger1 album bout to be a masterpiece and Will be #1 I stamp that," FBG Goat commented under a recent post.
Hopefully, we can be the judge of that ourselves. So far, Thug hasn’t provided any concrete details on when we could expect to hear new music from him.
Young Thug's Next Move?
The upcoming project could be a make-or-break moment in the eyes of his fanbase and hip-hop at large. During a recent livestream, Akademiks explained how he felt that fans could end up viewing Young Thug as someone who is no longer in his prime if he doesn’t deliver on his next project. His latest projects that he’s released since he was arrested haven’t necessarily been met with a warm reception. Ak explained that Thug could end up moving toward a space where he’s finding artists and signing them to his label rather than releasing music actively. Evidently, Thug’s ear for talent is unlike anyone else’s, so it’s going to be interesting to see how this next iteration of YSL moves forward.
