Excitement for a final Migos album has bubbled up in recent times, especially knowing how whatever issues existed between Quavo and Offset have simmered down. It’s still rather unclear what exactly caused the rift between the two, especially since Offset embarked on a solo career while Quavo and Takeoff debuted themselves as a duo after Culture III.
But tragedy has a way of bringing things into perspective, and Quavo recently revealed how the death of Takeoff “eased” things between himself and Offset.
"It threw out all the things that I was upset about or that we had friction about," he told Complex, noting that he can only speak from his own perspective. “It was enough for me to say, alright, cool. Whatever you’re going through, I’ll go through with you.”
Quavo added that the title of his forthcoming album, QRÖMELIFE, reflected the difficulty of grieving Takeoff. “Me losing my brother, it can’t get no tougher than that,” he said.
Quavo Discusses Offset Reunion
This week, we’ll get to hear Quavo and Offset on the same song together for the first time since 2022 on the song “Away,” which they premiered at a listening party last weekend. However, in 2023, Offset explained to Hot 97 that Migos’ break-up stemmed from Takeoff’s passing, not his issues with Quavo specifically. Still, in June 2023, they got together at the BET Awards to pay tribute to Takeoff with a special performance.
In terms of the upcoming Migos album, Quavo revealed that he and Offset have been hard at work and will likely try to finish it up by the end of the year. Following its release, they announced plans to go on a reunion tour together. We will keep you all posted on any further updates surrounding the upcoming project.
