The anonymous woman who accused JAŸ-Z of sexual assault has declared that there was “no truth” to any of her claims, according to Rolling Stone. In a 12-page declaration filed in federal court, she recanted her accusations against Hov that alleged he raped her. As a result, the mogul also dropped her as a defendant in his lawsuit against her and Tony Buzbee, where he accused them of trying to pressure him into a financial settlement.
“Shawn ‘Jay-Z’ Carter never raped me. I have never met or spoken to Mr. Carter. Mr. Carter never engaged in any inappropriate conduct toward me whatsoever,” Jane Doe wrote in her declaration. “There is no truth to any of my claims against Mr. Carter,” she continued. “I understand my false accusations have caused Mr. Carter immense pain, suffering, and damage that can never be fully undone.”
Doe’s new attorney, James Blair Newman, Jr., said that she’s a victim of sexual assault, “but she was entirely mistaken in her allegations identifying Mr. Carter, and those allegations were false.”
“Mr. Carter did not rape her, sexually assault her, engage in any inappropriate conduct towards her, and she has never met him. She sincerely and unconditionally apologizes to Mr. Carter and his family,” the statement reads. Doe also stated in her declaration that she wasn’t promised any compensation, nor did she receive any.
Jane Doe Recants Allegations Against JAŸ-Z
Doe said that her claim began when she saw an ad in fall 2024 that sought out people with sexual assault allegations against Diddy. She said that the October 2024 lawsuit against Diddy was filed without her knowledge or her lawyers “conducting any independent investigation, background inquiry, or due diligence.”
“In January 2025, I began to doubt my claims against Mr. Carter. I also began doubting that I ever went to a party with celebrities,” she wrote.
She also said she was provided $1,200 by her lawyers to do an interview with NBC News, where she took a polygraph test. She said she never received the results. Buzbee said that the money was “petty cash” to cover meals and travel expenses.
