After almost two years behind bars on murder-for-hire charges, Lil Durk found himself one step closer to freedom yesterday (Friday, September 11). A jury acquitted him on all counts in his trial, in which prosecutors accused him of organizing and financing a hit on Quando Rondo that killed Lul Pab. Following the verdict, many in hip-hop have been celebrating and speaking on the victory for the defense, including 50 Cent and his recent praise on Instagram for defense attorney Drew Findling.
"Yes B!TCH I am Drew Finding The Billion dollar Lawyer., @drewfindling Not [Guilty] !" he captioned his post. The post featured a picture of the lawyer speaking to press outlets.
While the G-Unit mogul hasn't commented much on the Chicago rapper's case up to this point, 50 Cent actually celebrated Drew Findling's inclusion on Lil Durk's legal team all the way back in 2024. "Lil Durk got Drew Findling on the case he sharp, if they didn’t cross their T’s and dot their i’s he gonna hit the bricks again," he wrote back then. Now, it's a curious moment to look back on.

As for the defense attorney Fif praised, Drew Findling had proclaimed his client's innocence after deliberations wrapped up the day before the verdict. Many detractors thought the defense was being too confident, but those criticism are now moot.
Meanwhile, there has been praise for another member of Durk's legal team: Brian Steel. The defense attorney joined the case allegedly at the behest of Young Thug, whom Steel represented in the YSL RICO case to great results for Thugger. Via Instagram, DJ Akademiks caught a screenshot of OTF's Doodie Lo on a FaceTime call with the lawyer after news of the verdict broke online.
