The VULTURES series is arguably the most polarizing release from Kanye West in the 2020s, as the collaborative albums with Ty Dolla $ign did not exactly get glowing reception. Fans in disagreement still held out for a third installment, but the hate speech-related fallout between Ty Dolla and Ye axed those hopes... Until now.
Last night (Friday, August 28), the Chicago superstar performed at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. It was par the course given Ye's previous concerts in recent months: a nostalgic and hit-filled setlist, the globe stage, big fireworks, and so on. But fans in New Orleans were in for a big surprise, as Kanye's Los Angeles collaborator joined him onstage to perform "EVERYBODY," "CARNIVAL," and their The Life Of Pablo collaboration "Fade."
Bars caught a clip of the first song on Instagram. GoodAssSub on Twitter caught Ty's message for his collaborator: "Make some noise for the realest in the motherf***ing game, the best artist alive, Ye!"
Does this mean VULTURES 3 is actually on the way? We will just have to wait and see what happens...
Kanye West's Concert
For those unaware, Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign fell out due to the latter denouncing hate speech after the former was on one of his Twitter bigotry storms. Ye claimed the labels forced Ty to speak out against him in an interview with DJ Akademiks.
"You letting them put words in your mouth," he claimed. "I 137x his career... And while I'm on a plane, you put up word-for-word Jews vernacular. My thing is, we can sit and talk it out. I know they [the record label] on your head, but you ain't got to denounce me."
In the months since, Ty Dolla $ign kept his distance from Kanye West, but that all seems to have changed now. The question is whether or not they hashed issues out or if they just let the backlash run its course.
Either way, fans now have renewed faith in VULTURES 3. We will see if they link up again soon or if this will be another mythical project that never emerges.
