The trial of Lil Durk will either see him in jail for a long time or return home triumphantly to the career he’s built for a decade and a half. The Chicago rapper’s currently fighting murder-for-hire charges related to the death of Lul Pab in an alleged ambush attack on Quando Rondo. Prosecutors claim it was revenge for the death of King Von.
The case has led to an abundance of speculation and commentary. Trap Lore Ross suggested that Durk snitched on OTF Vonni before Moe Gangat clarified that wasn’t the case. But more recently, Akademiks called King Yella on the phone to divulge on the politics of Chicago and provide his theories on the case. Yella said that Durk was actually trying his best to turn his life around but eventually, his efforts came a touch too late.
Yella said that Durk was trying to make amends with his past and some of his feuds before his incarceration. However, he explained that too many people died by that point. Still, Yella said that Durk was largely a product of his environment and much of the violence that surrounded him isn’t exclusive to his status as a rapper.

King Yella Speaks On Lil Durk Charges
“This is what I’m saying about people in the trenches. That sh*t is regular: sell drugs, f*ck b*tches, get money, kill people… rob people, steal, kill, destroy, which is what the f*cking devil wants motherf*ckers to do,” he told Akademiks during a livestream. “This is demonic sh*t. This is why the labels promote behind this sh*t.” Yella added that even Akademiks War In Chiraq series fed into this agenda.
“You got money because that’s what they wanted you to do, what keeps dumbin’ n***as down,” he continued. “Keep feeding, the devil work. Keep makin’ n***as kill n***as… The white man don’t like n***as. The white man don’t want to see n***as make it.”
When asked if he thought Durk was drunk off of power, Yella agreed, stating that the labels were aware of how things would play out. “That’s what I said about the labels. They know when they give a ignorant n***a some money, he’s gonna go do some ignorant sh*t.” he said, using EBK Jaaybo as an example.
