As one of the great emcees of all time, Nas has released 11 studio albums over the course of his career. His debut, Illmatic, is almost unanimously considered one of greatest rap records ever made. Upon hearing any one of the album's 10 tracks, "classic" is the first that comes to mind. But for every classic, there are about a dozen lesser-known or virtually forgotten cuts the arsenal of Nasir Jones.
Aaliyah Dana Haughton passed away on August 25, 2001, and her legacy still lives on a decade and a half later. She has influenced countless artists, from Drake to Rihanna, with her fantastic body of work. Championed by the likes of Timbaland and Missy Elliott, she had a couple of R&B chart-topping singles before scoring her first #1 album with Aaliyah, released just a month before her tragic death.

Timbaland Announces "King Stays King" Mixtape
We're stil waiting on Timbaland to drop Textbook Timbo, the project he promised he'd released before the end of the year, as well as his upcoming album Opera Noir Instead of either of these projects, looks were getting King Stays King, a 16-track mixtape that is slated to drop on December 25th. King Stays King will feature appearances from Mila J, Young Thug, Blaze, & Rich Homie Quan. It will also feature on unreleased track from Timbo's old collaborator Aaliyah.
Aaliyah's Family Is Now Selling A Tribute Fragrance
Perfume purveyor Xyrena announced that they have collaborated with with Diane and Rashad Haughton, Aaliyah's mother and brother, to make an official scent in memory of the late singer. “I grew up with Aaliyah’s music,” said Xyrena CEO Killian Wells. “As a huge fan, this is a very personal release for me and my company. We set out to create a fragrance to be cherished by Aaliyah’s fans and also introduce her to a new generation.”
