YG is taking his talents to television.

YG is stepping into his TV bag! Deadline exclusively announced today that Amazon MGM Studios has an exciting new drama series project in the works titled Don't Come To L.A., in partnership with rapper YG. The accomplished Damani Johnson, known for works like "The Crossover" and "One Piece" will also be serving as writer-producer for the series. According to Deadline, Don't Come To L.A. consists of a narrative written by Keith Sweet II, the creative mind behind Star Trek: Prodigy. The series revolves around a low-level gangster in the city of Los Angeles, who finds himself in a sticky situation. Assigned to protect one of the hottest rappers in the music industry by the security firm employed by his crime syndicate, the protagonist must navigate the world of gangsters and the glitz and glamour of the celebrity scene.

Damani Johnson takes the helm as the showrunner, and YG joins the team as an executive producer. They are accompanied by a talented group of industry veterans, including Trevor Engelson of Snowfall, Josh McGuire of Underground, and the collective forces of SB Projects represented by Scooter Braun, James Shin of Dave, and Scott Manson. Moreover, Douglas Banker from Johnny Football at Five All in the Fifth contributes his expertise to the production.

With the talented cast and crew, Don't Come To L.A. seems like it will be a compelling addition to the world of television.
