There have been plenty of controversial decisions that have emerged from the government of President Donald Trump, but it seems that he's not being stingy with the pardons. Despite some questionable pardons like conservative pundit Dinesh D'Souza and potentially Muhammad Ali, he also decided to grant clemency to Alice Johnson, after meeting with Kim Kardashian at the White House.
Even though the majority of the credit has fallen to Kim for securing Alice's freedom, Trump appears to be bolstered by the positive reaction he received from the pardon. According to a story in Vanity Fair, Trump's senior adviser and son-in-law, Jared Kushner, has been offering him a few suggestions: rappers who are currently imprisoned.
The article doesn't give mention as to exactly who Kushner put forward as a potential candidate for a pardon, only that "[t]hey’re going to be pardoning a lot of people—pardons that even Obama wouldn’t do," according to a source. Meek Mill, despite not being in prison, could be an interesting choice for a pardon, considering the confusion behind the details of his case.
There are plenty of rappers who probably wouldn't mind receiving a pardon from the president; Kodak Black, Max B, Bobby Shmurda, or 03 Greedo immediately come to mind. It's pretty hard to picture Jared Kushner listening to any of those guys' music, so we might have to settle for a DMX pardon instead.
