A proposed Watch the Throne reunion at the Super Bowl prompted Lenny S to comment on Hip Hop's growing amnesia.

Apparently, Valentine's Day has become the deadline for Jay-Z and Kanye West to work out their differences. A circulating social media post suggested the former Watch the Throne collaborators have until February 14, 2027, to reconcile and reunite onstage during Hov's Super Bowl halftime performance. However, longtime Roc Nation executive Lenny S. doesn't appear particularly enthusiastic about the idea. He left a brief but pointed comment beneath the post, writing, "The game is sadly developing too much amnesia."

Lenny, whose real name is Lenny Santiago, has worked closely with Jay-Z since their Roc-A-Fella days, making his reaction particularly noteworthy. He didn't elaborate on his comment or name Ye specifically, but the timing is hard to ignore. With Jay officially confirmed to headline Super Bowl LXI, discussions about potential guests have included everyone from Beyoncé to Rihanna. A reunion with Kanye has also become a popular suggestion, despite the considerable damage to their relationship over the years.

Kanye West's Comments About Jay-Z's Family Remain A Sticking Point

The speculation has already prompted renewed attention to Ye's disturbing remarks about Jay-Z and Beyoncé's children. In March 2025, he targeted the couple's younger twins, Rumi and Sir, with offensive comments questioning their intellectual abilities. The rapper used an ableist slur and made unfounded claims about the children, drawing widespread condemnation. His history of antisemitic statements has also complicated the possibility of a major televised appearance. Although Ye has since apologized for his behavior, there's been no public indication that Jay and Beyoncé have forgiven those particular attacks.

Not everyone believes the controversy rules out a reunion. During a recent episode of The Joe Budden Podcast, Budden suggested that Jay could still bring Ye onto the halftime stage. His co-hosts Ice and Ish agreed, while Marc Lamont Hill challenged the prediction, arguing that Ye's comments about Jay's children weren't easy to overlook. Hill also questioned whether the NFL would welcome the rapper given his history of inflammatory public statements.

Interestingly, Jay hasn't entirely dismissed Kanye's artistic contributions. During his 2026 documentary series with Rick Rubin, he praised Ye's creativity, calling him "one of the most brilliant creatives we're ever going to see." However, those remarks weren't confirmation that the two had repaired their personal relationship. As questions continue about who might join Jay at SoFi Stadium, Lenny's comment adds a perspective from someone within his longtime professional circle.
