President Trump acknowledges Nicki Minaj's appearance during his midterm rally speech.

Nicki Minaj joined President Donald Trump in Michigan on Sunday for a midterm rally, stepping off Air Force One at Selfridge Air National Guard Base in head-to-toe Gucci. The appearance puts her back on the campaign trail with Trump ahead of the November midterms, days after the pair publicly doubled down on their mutual admiration.

White House Communications Director Steven Cheung posted a video from the trip and joked that Minaj could fill the vacant briefing-room job. “Ladies and gentlemen, I think we may have found the new White House Press Secretary! @NICKIMINAJ,” Cheung wrote on X. The gag followed Katie Zacharia leaving the press secretary role after about five days. Nicki quote-tweeted Cheung’s post with “🇺🇸😅.” This is a joke, not an official appointment.

Moreover, another clip circulating has social media in shambles. During Trump's midterm rally speech in Port Huron, he made Nicki Minaj the moment completely. “By the way, I looked at one hell of a beautiful a** before. Nicki Minaj! That’s hard to miss. Stand up!”

President Trump Comments On Nicki Minaj's Appearance

This interaction isn't necessarily unusual for the two... considering their friendly relationship. The Michigan stop fits the same midterm push Minaj has been on for months. She has urged fans to “vote red”, called herself Trump’s “number one fan”, and told Fox News she supports him because she “just love[s] him.”

Trump talking about a woman’s body from a presidential podium is not new for him. He’s done versions of this for years, on the campaign trail and in old interviews. Hearing the president rate her a** out loud, then ask her to stand up, lands somewhere between a compliment, a bit, and a reminder of how he still talks about women when the cameras are rolling. Unusual for a modern White House. Pretty on-brand for this one.
