Nicki Minaj turned many fans against her due to her front-line support of United States President Donald Trump over the past year or so. Despite the backlash, she continues to show it's not just for show. Fox News will air an interview with the Trinidadian superstar and Lara Trump tonight (Saturday, September 26). They have shared a few clips on social media to preview the conversation.
In one moment of the sit-down, Minaj urged young fans to support Republicans in the U.S. midterms this year. "Now is not the time to think that your voice will not be heard," she expressed. "Your voice will not only be heard, but your voice is very necessary right now for the country and for the world. We need you guys involved more than ever before. This is your country. This is your world. You guys are so blessed to be able to vote. And you have to, more than ever now, take advantage of that ability that you guys have to be able to vote. Please. And vote red."
In another moment, Lara Trump asked what Nicki saw in Democrats that made her think they didn't have "the best interest of the country or for [her] in mind." "I think the Democrats have gotten way too caught up in pop culture, for lack of a better term," she remarked. "I think that they've allowed their relationships with artists to cause them to act like children and to be so petty and childish."
Nicki Minaj's Trump Support
Nicki Minaj's support of Donald Trump and the current Republican Party structure has manifested in various ways. For one, she was recently a celebrity judge for a Trump-linked reality program that saw five small business owners compete for portions of a $1 million prize pool.
Elsewhere, the Queen of the Barbz's feuds with other public figures made the support even more clear. She clashed with Joy Reid, Anthony Fauci, and many others due to her political beliefs and other folks' opposition to Trump and the MAGA movement.
Also, this interview follows Nicki Minaj's previous Fox News appearance, during which she explained her admiration for the president. "Every time I see him speaking to other people, he’s just himself," she noted. "He’s very grounded. It’s easy to connect with him, it’s easy to feel like he heard you, he understands you, and I just love him... I’m not ever going to make excuses for that, because I don’t know why I should."
