Chris Brown pleaded guilty to affray back in July stemming from his London nightclub case, and today, he received his prison sentence.

Chris Brown has been given an eight-month prison sentence in London after pleading guilty to affray in his nightclub attack case. Brown's sentence will be suspended by 12 months. This means that if he displays good behavior during the next year, he will not have to go to prison, according to Good Morning America.

If you remember, this case stemmed from an incident that occurred at a club in Hanover Square in London on Feb. 19, 2023. Brown's vocal coach, Omololu Akinlolu, was also accused of participating in the alleged incident. Meanwhile, Brown was accused of "using a glass bottle as a weapon to strike the victim’s head twice."

Brown and Akinlolu both pleaded guilty to affray. This charge is issued when someone "uses or threatens unlawful violence towards another and his conduct is such as would cause a person of reasonable firmness present at the scene to fear for his personal safety."

Chris Brown Sentenced

This latest ruling by Judge Tony Baumgartner is perhaps the best-case scenario for Brown. His lawyers were looking for a suspended sentence when he first pleaded guilty three months ago.

Meanwhile, affray is a charge that comes with a three-year prison sentence. Brown was given a much lower sentence, and the 12-month sentence all but guarantees that he will not see the inside of a British prison cell.

It has been a whirlwind time for Brown. Between this, his tour with Usher, and the legal case involving his former housekeeper, the artist has found himself firmly planted in the headlines.

This remains a developing story, so stay tuned to HNHH for updates.
