Brian Steel recently spoke to T.I. on "expediTIously," where he was asked about his decision to join Lil Durk's defense team.

Brian Steel is considered one of the best lawyers in the business. He helped Young Thug avoid prison, and he also got Lil Durk out of his murder-for-hire trial unscathed. Of course, Durk still has a VICAR case remaining, although Steel and Drew Findling have fans feeling more confident than ever before.

Following the trial, Steel was a guest on T.I.'s expediTIously podcast. During Part 1, Steel spoke about his origins in law. He also touched on the injustices of the legal system and how rap lyrics should be considered protected free speech.

In Part 2, which dropped on Tuesday, Steel told the story of joining Durk's legal team. At the time, he was busy and was going to pass due to various other obligations. However, after a phone call with Young Thug, he reconsidered, and eventually joined the team.

"Then Jeffery called me and said, 'I love Durk. Durk is my brother," Steel explained. "'I understand they've been calling you. Can you just make a meeting with them and work it out.' I was already eager to do it. It was just my schedule."

In the end, Steel's inclusion on Lil Durk's legal team was a resounding success. Drew Findling got the ball rolling, and he and Steel were able to pack a punch in the courtroom.

Overall, Lil Durk's victory in the murder-for-hire case was seen as an upset by the general public. Prior to the trial, there was sentiment that Durk would be convicted. However, a jury of his peers concluded that there was too much reasonable doubt to hit him with a guilty verdict.

Now, Durk is set to go back on trial next Summer. If he beats the case, he will be free.
