A dispute over the settlement in Takeoff’s wrongful death lawsuit has the late rapper’s mother and father at odds in court. According to TMZ, Takeoff’s mom, Titania Davenport, and his dad, Kenneth Ball, are disputing over how much Ball will receive from the settlement payment. However, this might also require Quavo and Offset to testify on Davenport’s behalf.
Davenport’s filing wants this dispute to be handled in George instead of Texas, where Takeoff was murdered. She argued that both Quavo and Offset, along with all the other relevant witnesses to the case, live around Atlanta and Athens, GA. The issue with bringing this to Texas is that all potential witnesses would have to travel to Houston and cover the costs of their travel.
It remains unclear how much Kenneth Ball is hoping to receive out of the settlement stemming from Titania’s lawsuit against 810 Billiards & Bowling in Houston. However, Davenport argued that she had an extremely close relationship with Takeoff, practically raising him as a single mom and relying on him for support once he got his big break. She also said that Kenneth “provided negligible financial support and effectively no emotional support” to Takeoff when he was a child, nor was he actively involved in the rapper’s life.
