The murder case surrounding MO3 reached a conclusion after Kewon White was found guilty of capital murder. Still, there are ways to go, as Yella Beezy is set to face the court on allegations that he orchestrated a murder-for-hire that resulted in MO3’s death. But according to All Hip Hop, his attorneys have filed a motion to appeal the conviction, claiming that he couldn’t afford the trial transcripts.
The transcripts themselves aren’t going to be available until early 2027, and the process for the appeal can take up to a year and a half to reach the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Kewon White was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of Mo3 without the possibility of parole. His appellate attorneys, Grace Shin and Niles Illich, will receive the transcripts once available. Shin explained to Fox4News that it doesn’t guarantee a new trial, but it does provide an opportunity to find some sort of issue that can help their client.
Yella Beezy Trial In Mo3 Killing
The motion for appeal ties directly to Yella Beezy’s case. The rapper’s trial has ultimately been pushed back from its initial start date in September 2026, partially due to court transcripts, along with issues related to the availability of expert witnesses during the trial.
Prosecutors allege that Yella Beezy paid White $40,000 for the hit on MO3, who was ambushed and shot on I-35E while driving on the freeway. They said that bank records suggest that he pulled out $40,000 after MO3 was shot and killed, once White became irritated for not receiving his payment.
Beezy’s trial is now looking like it will begin at the end of October 2026 at the earliest, though that can also change. We will keep you posted on any further updates regarding the case.
