Sexyy Red flaunted various dope Halloween costumes this year, including Katt Williams' Money Mike character from Friday After Next. But the most shocking one she showed off this year is easily her transformation into Mystique from the X-Men comics, and she went even father with it than many fans would've guessed.
The St. Louis femcee took to Instagram to show off a whole bunch of pictures of her costume, and she rocked the full blue body and scale details. But she added a feature that doesn't show up in the source material: a bush.
Fans reacted hilariously to this on social media, and they likely did so in-person as well. The "IN THE CLUB" artist performed at Loe Shimmy's "Zombieland" Halloween concert last night (Saturday, October 31) in Miami, and she popped out in her full Mystique look.
This follows a lot of other partying for Sexyy Red in recent weeks. She was one of many guests at Drake's 40th birthday celebrations, and it seems like she had an amazing time. While Sexyy didn't pop out with a costume for it, she did show off her pink OVO chain at the festivities.
Sexyy Red's Halloween Costume
Elsewhere, Sexyy Red's lewd imagery continues to draw criticism. Most of it is unwarranted and just the product of gender bias, but folks still react with disdain whenever she pokes the bear and gets more promiscuous online.
For example, Sauce Walka recently went as far as to say Sexyy, Latto, and Saweetie are selling their bodies for sex. They are completely unsubstantiated allegations, but they also reflect how one's public image can lead folks to draw these speculative conclusions just based on comfort with one's sexuality.
Throughout these situations, Red hasn't really batted an eye, and continues to lean into that image for the sake of expression. This has also translated into criticism of Sexyy Red's musical output for similar reasons, but she keeps cranking out bangers with albeit middling reception.
As such, this Mystique costume should come as no surprise, even if fans didn't expect all its details. She has always been confident in her style and aesthetic, and all the attention and ridicule just helps her reach more people in the long run.
