After the conviction of Kewon White for the murder of Mo3, Yella Beezy is set to stand trial for capital murder charges related to the “For Real” rapper’s death. However, his trial has been pushed back by over a month, according to Fox 4 News. The trial was initially supposed to start jury selection by Monday. Judge Chika Anyiam granted a continuance to the defence, largely because of issues related to their witnesses. Both the defense and prosecutors are coordinating to bring federal witnesses to court.
The defense said they needed more time because their expert witnesses wouldn’t be available for the next few weeks. Moreover, the defense requested the transcript from Kewon White’s trial before Yella Beezy is tried. The court reporter will need roughly 30 days to bring the transcript from White’s trial to the defense, who asked for another two weeks to review the documents. Prosecutors didn’t oppose the motion.

Mo3 was shot and killed on Interstate 35 in Dallas in 2020 after he was ambushed. White was convicted of capital murder for the shooting and sentenced to life without parole. However, prosecutors accuse Yella Beezy of hiring White to carry out the shooting. They said the rapper paid $40K for the shooting. He’s pleaded not guilty and denied involvement in the case.
There’s also a third defendant, Devin Brown, whom prosecutors allege was in the car when White killed Mo3. Brown is currently facing a capital murder charge related to the killing.
