Anthony Edwards jokes about LeBron James and the Brunsons in a new Adidas ad hyping the AE 3 "Cold Blooded" release.

Anthony Edwards is back with another trash-talking Adidas commercial. This one hypes the AE 3 "Cold Blooded," and Edwards spends most of it clowning other stars around the league. The clip first surfaced through Adidas Basketball's Instagram page.

LeBron James gets brought up early. Edwards jokes that cold Minnesota weather is the real reason LeBron never considered playing there. He follows that with a joke aimed at Jaylen Brown too, tying it back to a bit about Philadelphia barbers.

Jalen Brunson isn't spared either. Edwards even brings his father, Knicks assistant coach Rick Brunson, into the joke, making clear nobody in that family is off limits. Fans quickly picked up on every name he mentioned.

The whole thing plays out more like a late-night bit than a typical sneaker ad. Edwards hosts it himself, joined by longtime friend Nick Maddox handling the music. The funnt part is there's barely any shoe talk mixed in at all.

The AE 3 "Cold Blooded" releases today September 18th. Also an Adidas Superstar in the same colorway drops alongside it.

Anthony Edwards' New Adidas Ad

This isn't exactly suprising news for Edwards and Adidas. His campaigns have leaned into his personality for a while now, usually letting him talk however he naturally would off the court. Edwards has become somewhat of a controversial star in the NBA, but Adidas is definitely leaning into his star power.

That approach fits Edwards better than a standard commercial ever could. His confidence and humor have become as much a selling point as the shoe itself. We have come to expect these bits alongside every AE release at this point. This kind of controversial hype will only continue to build in the future.

Pairing that personality with real matchups and real names gives the ads some extra bite. Calling out LeBron, Brunson, and Brown by name makes it feel less scripted than most athlete commercials.

For Adidas, leaning into Edwards' voice this directly keeps the AE line feeling distinct from other signature campaigns around the league.
