Lil Durk’s trial has officially started, and from what we’ve heard from select media in attendance, it’s been a bit chaotic over there. Between the judge scolding Durk fans for handing out Free Lil Durk paraphernalia at the courthouse and Trap Lore Ross getting admonished by fans for his investigative work, it’s clear that tension is high.
For what it’s worth, it seems like Lil Durk is in good spirits, given the circumstances. Akademiks recently shared a photo of Lil Durk, marking one of the first times we’ve seen Durk since his incarceration. In the flick, he almost looks like a different person with his signature hair gone while holding his index finger up and smiling at the camera.
Hopefully, the appearance of positivity can carry through his upcoming trial surrounding murder-for-hire allegations. The government charged Durk with conspiracy, murder-for-hire, and weapons charges related to the murder of Lul Pab, which prosecutors claim was intended to target Quando Rondo. Durk has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Lil Durk Trial Continues This Week With Opening Statements
The trial will begin this week as planned. Despite some complications with potential jurors, a jury panel has been selected, so opening statements will begin as planned. During the selection process, potential jurors had to answer questions regarding their thoughts on rap music, which is crucial since Durk’s own music has been entered into evidence. In addition, jurors will also have to review interviews involving Wack 100, Akademiks, and 6ix9ine. Part of this is to prove that public pressure partially contributed to the retaliation attack on Quando Rondo following the murder of King Von.
