2026 has undoubtedly been Don Toliver’s year. OCTANE became one of the best-selling albums of the year, and his accompanying tour has induced FOMO into anyone who couldn’t get tickets. Unfortunately for fans in his hometown of Houston, their experience got cut short. Per the Houston Chronicle, the show came to an end abruptly on Tuesday when a voice on the venue’s sound system told fans to leave the venue.
Atlantic Records said that the concert’s cancellation came “out of an abundance of caution for the safety of fans, the artist and event staff.” The label also confirmed that there is a police investigation, while Houston PD added that they’re actively working on an official response surrounding the show’s shutdown.
However, a report from All Hip-Hop alleged that the real reason the show shut down is that a lone gunman made their way into the show and Toyota Center. They report that the person somehow got a firearm through the metal detectors before he was arrested and brought to jail.
Don Toliver Show Ends In Houston With Confusion
Before the arrest, confusion spread across the Toyota Center when the venue’s lights went on and Don Toliver exited the stage, since it seemed as though he would’ve likely returned to wrap up the final three songs of his set. However, a voice reportedly echoed through the speaker, urging people to “sit the f*** down” because the show wasn’t over. Then, moments later, another voice was heard, stating, “Sorry for the inconvenience. The show is over. Please go the nearest exit. Exit safely. Thank you, and have a good night.”
