Drake has had one of the most turbulent but also successful periods in 2020s hip-hop over the past few years. Amid a lot of disses back and forth between various opponents, he wanted to make it clear that he still has smoke for whoever challenges him.
During Drizzy's Stake-celebrating giveaway stream on Kick last night (Saturday, August 8), he sent out a message to his hip-hop opposition. It follows new albums from foes like A$AP Rocky and Rick Ross, and plenty of his own disses towards opponents on his three new LPs this year.
"I appreciate the last few months," The Boy expressed, as caught by Kurrco on Twitter. "It's been incredible for me. I dropped three on their head top. These guys are dropping albums, it's like hello and goodbye. And careful with that reply, 'cause the pen isn't dry. Just letting you know. *gun noise* That's what I'm on, by the way. Let me pop it..."
He went on to do a 'fit check and ask for W's in the chat for Stake. It was far from the only beef-related headline from this livestream.
Drake Disses Jay-Z
Elsewhere, Drake sent shots at what seems to be his biggest opp this year, Jay-Z. "GGs, the Roc Nation subpoenas are getting cleared," he remarked at one point of the livestream. It's unclear exactly what this is referring to, and if the alleged subpoenas are from or against the Roc. But amid a lot of speculation about Hov and his company allegedly manipulating media and working against the Toronto superstar (plus Jay's own responses to the ICEMAN disses), it seems like this tale won't die down anytime soon.
However, this livestream also held a potential confirmation of a Drake beef, although this is mostly due to fan speculation. When he commented on not liking boats, DJ Akademiks and many others speculated whether or not this was a subliminal Lil Yachty diss.
It seems like it most likely wasn't, as they have been cool at various points since the Kendrick Lamar battle. For those unaware, many OVO fans saw Yachty as a fence-sitter due to his podcast comments on the showdown. While that feud seems to be overblown and non-existent, the OVO mogul definitely has more ire to act upon against other foes.
