The Atlanta duo lost all of the recent music they had made.

2022 was likely the best year of EarthGang's career. In Feb. 2022, the Atlanta duo dropped their fourth studio album Ghetto Gods. The project consisted of features from Future, Cee Lo Green, J Cole, JID, Nick Cannon and more. Then, months later in July, they provided a deluxe version of the LP. With guests like Curren$y, Smino and Wiz Khalifa, the Ghetto Gods deluxe was almost as spectacular as the original version. The entire album rollout, release, and execution left very little to be desired. Ghetto Gods turned out to be one of, if not the group's best offerings to date.

Looking ahead to 2023, EarthGang has two notable events on the horizon. In April, they will be headed to California for Coachella. Performing on both Saturdays (April 15 & April 22), EarthGang will bring a vibrant and inspired performance. Additionally, the Dreamville tandem is looking to put out an EP soon. In a post from Jan. 28, they confirmed their EP is on the way, quoting member Doctur Dot's tweet that read: "This new EarthGang ep has some work I'm very proud of." While the EP has yet to be given a release date, this announcement makes it clear that EarthGang has been in the lab.

EarthGang Misplaces Their Music

Unfortunately, when things were looking up for EarthGang, they ran into some trouble. On Feb. 7, their official Twitter account posted a troubling announcement. The duo had lost a black backpack containing a hard drive with their music on it. They had misplaced the bag when in Los Angeles for Grammy weekend. They alleged that all their latest music was on it, and requested help finding it. "This black bag was last seen in LA Grammy weekend in it was our hard drives with our latest music. RT!! If anybody has seen it pleeeeeeeeeeeeeaseeeee DM US," they wrote.

It's unclear if this hard drive contained the songs for their EP, but either way this is unfortunate. When asked for an update on Feb. 13, the Gang said they had still not located the bag. Hopefully, the duo can be able to recover their music soon. The hip-hop community is better when EarthGang is thriving.
