The last time MTV did their annual list of the Hottest MCs in the Game, the years was 2012, and Kendrick Lamar was crowned number one. For the first time since then, the list has returned, and the jury, a panel involving the likes of Nick Cannon and Joe Budden, has decided their order for this year. After much debate, Kanye West was ranked top shotta, mostly for his highly influential album TLOP and his incredibly innovative Saint Pablo Tour.

Last time Kanye West got the number one spot was in 2008, after the Chicago rapper reached career a new career peak with the release of Graduation. Toronto superstar Drake came in at second, and Chance The Rapper rounded out the top 3.

Among the accomplished rappers missing from this year’s list are Childish Gambino, ScHoolboy Q, Kid Cudi, and most notably, Mr. Platinum With No Features, J. Cole. Check out the full top ten list below, and let us know how upset you are about it in the comments section.
