Paris Jackson, the 18-year-old daughter of the late Michael Jackson, adorns the cover of the latest issue of Rolling Stone. She speaks on some harrowing memories in her in-depth cover story, such as when she was sexually assaulted at 14 as well as attempting suicide the next year. She also speaks at length on her father, whom she is convinced was murdered.
Making the disclosure for the first time, Jackson revealed that, at age 14, she was sexually assaulted by "a complete stranger" who was much older than her. "I don't wanna give too many details," she told he magazine. "But it was not a good experience at all, and it was really hard for me, and, at the time, I didn't tell anybody."
When she was 15, she tried to kill herself by slashing her wrists and consuming 20 Motrin pills. "It was just self-hatred," she said of her mindset at the time, "low self-esteem, thinking that I couldn't do anything right, not thinking I was worthy of living anymore." That incident was publicly reported back in June 2013, but in her new interview, Jackson claims that she had attempted suicide "multiple times" before that. She struggled heavily with depression and drug abuse after her father's death in 2009.
The King of Pop was found unconscious in 2009 and was declared dead hours later. His physician at the time, Conrad Murray, was convicted of involuntary manslaughter for the concoction of meds he had been administering to Jackson. Murray served two years of a four-year sentence for the crime.
Jackson's daughter believes her father's death was a case of murder, and she considers Murray a primary suspect. She implied that there had been a planned effort to eventually kill her father. “He would drop hints about people being out to get him," she explained. "And at some point he was like, ‘They’re gonna kill me one day.' It sounds like a total conspiracy theory, and it sounds like bullsh*t, but all real fans and everybody in the family knows it. It was a setup. It was bullsh*t.”
She also maintains that her father is wholly innocent of all allegations of child molestation, and she fiercely denies rumors that she is not his biological child. Due to her father's race, she considers herself black, despite often being mistaken for being caucasian.
