Travis Scott Sued By DJ Paul Over "No Bystanders" Hook: Report

Travis Scott's accused of ripping off Three 6 Mafia's "Tear Da Club Up" for "Astroworld."

The possibilities of Three 6 Mafia are looking slim these days but regardless of whether they put out another project or not, they're still one of the most influential groups in modern music. Their aesthetic and sound have impacted the game as we know it and inspired a slew of hit records in 2018. Cardi B and Rae Sremmurd are just two artists who had hit records including Three 6 Mafia samples. However, DJ Paul from the legendary Memphis group has accused Travis Scott of blatantly stealing a bit out of a classic Three 6 Mafia track for a highlight off of Astroworld.

According to TMZ, DJ Paul has filed a lawsuit against Travis Scott over "No Bystanders," claiming the Houston rapper sampled "Tear The Club Up" on "No Bystanders" without proper authorization. On the Three 6 track, they chant "Tear The Club Up, tear the club up," on the hook. Travis' song seemingly mimics the refrain while changing "tear" to "f*ck."

Paul accuses Travis of using the identical cadence and sound on the hook. He also adds that Travis Scott's performance at the 2019 Grammys used Three 6 Mafia's hook verbatim.

DJ Paul is suing Travis Scott for copyright infringement and demands the profits from the song which he "expects to be in excess" of $20M.
