Most recently, John Singleton's family and friends attended a private funeral to pay their final respects to the late director. The celebration of life occurred in Los Angeles at the Angelus Funeral home. As part of the exclusive guest list were many of John's closest friends whom also happened to be well-known faces. Spotted celebs included Ludacris, Ice Cube, Tyrese and Queen Beyonce's mother dearest, Tina Knowles. Even congresswoman, Maxine Waters was in attendance to the privy event.

Singleton passed on last week after being taken off life support. The legendary screenwriter and producer suffered a stroke which resulted in a coma. He was then checked into Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and remained there until his death. The Boyz N The Hood filmmaker was deeply mourned by the Hip Hop community as several rap stars, including Snoop Dogg, Juicy J and the iconic rap group Wu Tang Clan, offered their deepest condolences. In addition, fellow directors Spike Lee also penned a heartfelt tribute to John Singleton, whom he referred to as his "brother" along with Jordan Peele, who tweeted about Singleton's passing. Herein, Peele defined Singleton's vision as "having changed everything."
