The "If I Ain't Got You" singer stood before her sons and declared, "I am hosting the Grammys." In the clip available below, viewers will notice her using extended arms and slow-paced words for emphasis. The triumphant pronouncement was followed by a slightly awkward and slightly humorous silence. Finally, after the mother turns around to walk away in feigned dismay, her eldest son speaks up. Egypt Daoud asks a most interesting question, considering the fact that his father is Swizz Beatz: "What's the Grammys?" Looks like the high-profile couple has managed to keep their children somewhat sheltered from the glitz and glamour of their music careers.
Keys' fans show more enthusiasm when she made her announcement to the public. "I know what it feels like to be on that stage, and I’m going to bring that vibe and energy," Keys said in a statement from the Recording Academy on Tuesday.
