NBA YoungBoy has been dropping new music in 2026, and it seems like he may not be done with the year just yet.

NBA YoungBoy has been one of the biggest rappers of the 2020s, so many fans expressed disappointment when he hinted at retiring soon. "I want to quit right now, actually," he told i-D Magazine. "But all of this… It’s way bigger than me. I just want to make people happy, and if I can’t do that, then I just want to stay out of the way. I feel like my W will be shown through my kids, you know? It’s not about money or any of my own achievements."

However, it seems like if the Baton Rouge rapper really does hang it up, it won't be before he drops one more album. As caught by DJ Akademiks on Instagram, he recently took to IG to share a cryptic message and reveal there's a new project on the way.

"Look me in my eyes," YB wrote earlier today (Sunday, November 8) alongside a wine glass emoji, a broken heart emoji, a gun emoji, and a bag of cash emoji. "Album otw." It's a simple and vague declaration that may reveal Look Me In My Eyes as a potential album title or just a subliminal message to an unknown recipient.

NBA YoungBoy has been dropping new music all throughout 2026, so maybe he has one more in the vault before the year is over. Given all that he's been through across his career at such a young age, though, it's understandable that he would want to cut back and maybe truly retire.

Rod Wave & NBA YoungBoy

Still, other teases around NBA YoungBoy's career suggest this new album won't be the only thing on his artistic horizon. Back in September, Rod Wave teased a stadium tour with YoungBoy, which would bring two of the most obsessive and loyal fanbases in hip-hop together for a whole run.

Also, NBA YoungBoy's living out of the country right now, so this is another factor fans have connected to his hints and desires to retire. We'll see what actually happens next year. In the meantime, we'll have to wait for more news about this new YB album to emerge and manifest.
