NBA YoungBoy recently did an interview with i-D Magazine where he offered up his reasoning behind wanting to quit rap.

NBA YoungBoy has been taking it easy as of late. While he spent the early part of the year dropping albums like Slime Cry, it appears as though the man just wants to rest and spend time with his family.

It's an honorable thing to do, especially when you consider everything YoungBoy has been through in his career. At such a young age, he has already gone through hell and back. He's painfully aware of this, and is now just trying to figure out his place in the world.

During an interview with i-D Magazine's Cassidy George, YoungBoy revealed his state of mind. In fact, he made the declaration that he is ready to quit right now. The money and achievements aren't nearly as important to him as his kids. Those are the people he wants to impact the most right now.

NBA YoungBoy Speaks To i-D Magazine

"I want to quit right now, actually. But all of this… It’s way bigger than me," YoungBoy explained. "I just want to make people happy, and if I can’t do that, then I just want to stay out of the way. I feel like my W will be shown through my kids, you know? It’s not about money or any of my own achievements."

It's admirable for YoungBoy to speak so frankly about these kinds of things. Being in his position is not easy, especially with the weight of the world on his shoulders.

Fans shouldn't expect any new music anytime soon. While this is undoubtedly unfortunate, it's good to see YoungBoy taking a step back and thinking about himself.
